The offseason gets a lot more exciting this year with the addition of Keepers and making it even more interesting is we have our first Co-Owner Champs! Below is a WAY TO EARLY look at potential Keepers for each team. In case you don't remember how it works, here's a quick link to our Keeper Rules: https://ourfantasyfootballleague.blogspot.com/2021/08/league-rules.html
Dave
Patrick Mahomes -1st Round Pick
Stefon Diggs - 1st Round Pick
Stefon Diggs - 1st Round Pick
Saquan Barkley - 1st Round Pick
Josh Jacobs - 3rd Round Pick
Tee Higgins - 5th Round Pick
Damien Harris - 6th Round Pick
Dave landing the #1 overall pick last year ensured he would have the ability to keep Mahomes for the foreseeable future, or at least until he is selected as a co-owner. The rest of this group is really good and gives Dave plenty of options. Barkley is a huge question mark and the 1st Round Pick is just too much for me. Similarly, Jacobs role may be a little more cloudy with a new coach in place and a handful of years with a heavy work load. That leaves Diggs, Higgins, and Harris. While Higgins looks like a rising star he's the #2 to Chase, so I'm going with Diggs and Harris.
My Picks: Mahomes (1st), Diggs (2nd), Harris (6th)
Tim
Lamar Jackson - 1st Round Pick
Najee Harris - 2nd Round Pick
CeeDee Lamb - 2nd Round Pick
Cordarrelle Patterson - 13th Round Pick
Jackson is a couple years removed from his MVP season and while he may never reach those heights again, he was worth of his 1st Round selection up until the point he died. After Jackson, Tim has a strong but not very deep set of players I could see him choosing from. Harris seems like an easy selection due to his age and anticipated high usage. The real decision for Tim will come down to CeeDee Lamb and 2021 breakout fantasy star Cordarrelle Patterson. The safe pick is Lamb but the value is just too good to pass on the chance of Patterson repeating his performance at a 13th Round value.
My Picks: Jackson (1st), Harris (2nd), Patterson (13th)
Mitch
Travis Kelce - 1st Round Pick
Dalvin Cook - 1st Round Pick
Justin Herbert - 1st Round Pick
Javonte Williams - 4th Round Pick
Jalen Waddle - 6th Round Pick
Rhamondre Stevenson - 11th Round Pick
Lots of options to choose from here, so let's start with an easy one and keep the #2 QB in 2021, Justin Herbert. Cook and Kelce didn't disappoint in 2021 and are worthy keepers, but both are nearing the age they may see some regression. Williams, Waddle, and Stevenson all impressed as rookies. Williams specifically should see an increased workload with Melvin Gordon likely heading to Free Agency. I'm going with youth for now but knowing I will chicken out come the Keeper Deadline.
My Picks: Herbert (1st), Williams (4th), Waddle (6th)
Jesse
Joe Burrow - 1st Round Pick
A.J. Brown - 2nd Round Pick
Davante Adams - 1st Round Pick
Tre Lance - 4th Round Pick
Justin Fields - 2nd Round Pick
No chance Jesse doesn't take Burrow, which takes Lance and Fields off the board. Adams is an easy pick if Rodgers returns to Green Bay while A.J. Brown is coming off a down season and may not warrant a 2nd or 3rd Round Pick.
My Picks: Joe Burrow (1st), Adams (2nd)
Ryan
Johnathan Taylor - 1st Round Pick
Zeke Elliot - 1st Round Pick
Justin Jefferson - 1st Round Pick
Antonio Gibson - 1st Round Pick
Trevor Lawrence - 2nd Round Pick
Ja'marr Chase - 3rd Round Pick
Mark Andrews -3rd Round Pick
The champs have a ton of good young players that would make great keepers, but I really think this is an easy decision as it stands today. The only thing that could change this is if Ryan were to to make a trade for a high end QB. Maybe a Burrow for Chase deal with Jesse would make sense for both teams. For now I'm taking the top RB and the #3 and #4 WRs.
My Picks: Taylor (1st), Jefferson (2nd), Chase (3rd)
Taylor
Kyler Murray - 1st Round Pick
Austin Ekeler - 1st Round Pick
Greg Kittle - 1st Round Pick
Mike Evans - 3rd Round Pick
Elijah Mitchell - 13th Round Pick
Ekeler stayed healthy and finished as the #2 RB, making him and easy choice. Kyler Murray came out red hot this year but faded down the stretch, calling into question his Keeper status. Without much else to choose from, I still think it makes sense for Taylor to keep his #1 QB. Evans and Kittle both had good 2021 seasons but Kittle may not warrant a top 3 round pick and Evans no longer has Brady throwing to him. Mitchell battled injuries but when healthy was the top back in the 9er backfield. I think he's the easy pick here considering he will only cost a 13th Round Pick.
My Picks: Ekeler (1st), Murray (2nd), Mitchell (13th)
Drew
Jalen Hurts - 1st Round Pick
Alvin Kamara - 1st Round Pick
Nick Chubb - 1st Round Pick
Devonta Smith - 6th Round Pick
Chubb and Kamara finished the season as RB 7 and 9, making them easy picks. The rest of Drew's roster is a bit of a wasteland and he's likely choosing between a couple of Eagles. It's tough not keeping a QB but Hurts is far from guaranteed a starting gig next year. That situation also makes keeping Smith difficult, but at the cost of a 6th Round pick it seems like good value for the former Heisman winner.
My Picks: Chubb (1st), Kamara (2nd), Smith (6th)
Cha
Josh Allen - 1st Round Pick
Tyreek Hill - 1st Round Pick
Darren Waller - 2nd Round Pick
Chris Godwin - 3rd Round Pick
Mac Jones - 8th Round Pick
Josh Allen finished as the #1 QB in 2021 while Mac Jones finished his rookie year at #18. It's hard to imagine Cha not keeping Allen but the difference of 7 rounds may give him pause. Complicating that a bit is the 1st Round price on Tyreek Hill who finished the year as the #2 WR. I elected not to keep a 3rd player and see what RBs may be available in the 3rd Round.
My Picks: Allen (1st), Hill (2nd)
Mike
Dak Prescott - 1st Round Pick
Joe Mixon - 1st Round Pick
James Robinson - 3rd Round Pick
Miles Sanders - 4th Round Pick
Dawson Knox - 13th Round Pick
For as bad as this team was this past year, Mike has some good keepers to choose from. Dak had a nice bounce back season and finished as the #7 QB. Mixon finished as the #3 RB, though his production slipped down the stretch of the regular season. Robinson and Sanders are interesting but too risky to take with 3rd and 4th Round Picks, so I'm taking Knox who finished as the #6 TE.
My Picks: Dak (1st), Mixon (2nd), Knox (13th)
Eric
Russel Wilson - 1st Round Pick
Aaron Rodgers - 1st Round Pick
David Montgomery - 1st Round Pick
Cooper Kupp - 3rd Round Pick
Amari Cooper - 3rd Round Pick
Mike Williams - 8th Round Pick
Both Rodgers and Wilson could be on different teams next year, but I'll believe it when I see it. For now Rodgers remains an easy selection over Wilson no matter what team he is on. Kupp as a 3rd Round Pick is the easiest selection for any team. I could see Eric just not taking a 3rd Keeper, but rolling the dice with Mike Williams in the 8th Round feels like good value for a guy that started to show why he was a top 10 draft pick a few seasons ago.
My Picks: Rodgers (1st), Kupp (3rd), Williams (8th)
Andrew
Matt Stafford - 1st Round Pick
Derick Henry - 1st Round Pick
Keenan Allen - 2nd Round Pick
Deebo Samuel - 6th Round Pick
The biggest question for Andrew this offseason will be around Derek Henry who FINALLY broke down after a billion carries. Will Henry be able to return to form next season or was the injury this year the start of his decline. It's too much of a risk for me right now.
My Picks: Stafford (1st), Deebo (6th)
Jason
Kyle Pitts - 2nd Round Pick
Matt Ryan - 2nd Round Pick
Aaron Jones - 1st Round Pick
Christina McCaffery - 1st Round Pick
JK Dobbins - 11th Round Pick
Terry McLauren - 3rd Round Pick
Tayson Hill - 10th Round Pick
After souring on his Aaron Jones / Christina McCaffery combo, I have a feeling Jason won't use any of his top 3 picks on Keepers and instead have his choice of the leftovers. This is especially true if Aaron Rodgers leaves Green Bay. For now I'm keeping Jones along with potential starting Saints QB, Taysom Hill, and Jason love interest, JK Dobbins.
My Picks: Aron Jones (1st), Hill (10th), JK Dobbins (11th)
