2025 Fantasy Football Championship

The path to a fantasy championship is often a roller coaster of a ride. Take, for example, our two finalists this season. Mitch (9-5) raced out to a 5-1 start, lost 4 of his next 5, before finishing the regular season on a 3 game winning streak. His opponent, and reigning champ, Jesse (7-7) stumbled out the gate to a 2-5 record and didn't get to .500 until the last week of the regular season.

How you manage those ups and downs will determine your season. Sometimes you need to be patient with your team, like Jesse who made only 1 trade, a disaster of a deal that saw him move JSN for a pick swap, and 8 Waiver additions, of which only Joe Flacco made an impact. Other times, you need to make a flurry or moves that have little to no reason behind them other than to simply mix things up. Much like Mitch who made 21 Waiver adds for the likes of Rico Dowdle and Kyle Pitts to go along with trades for Dak Prescott, De'Von Achane, and George Pickens.

Aside for the yearly passing of the belt, much is riding on this matchup. Jesse, who was 0-3 in this game before breaking through last season, looks to become the first back to back league champion. Mitch has a chance for his second title in three years and looks to tie Dave's league best 3 championships in the co-owner era.

Jesse's lineup pretty much sets itself with a one exception, who he puts in his QB2 slot. The ageless Phil Rivers put up good numbers against the Niners on MNF last week and has a favorable matchup against the Jags this week. Cam Ward was unplayable for most of the year, which along with the Burrow injury sunk Jesse's early season, but Cam has rebounded in a big way, scoring in triple digits five of the last six weeks.

Mitch also has a questions at QB. Lamar Jackson comes into the week with a bad back and has been butt for much of the season. Might Mitch turn to Kirk Cousins, who has outscored Lamar in four of the last five weeks.

Tough choices at the TE, W/R, and W/T slots remain as well. At TE, Kyle Pitts has been red hot the last four weeks, but faces a touch matchup and Drake London's return threatens his target share. Brenton Strange has been up and down since returning from injury but has a very favorable matchup. But the matchup is likely to come down to choosing the right two some between Rico Dowdle, Michael Carter, A.J. Brown, and the aforementioned Drake London.

Best of luck and Merry Christmas!
