Week 2 POWER Rankings

The following is a guest post by 3-time Champ, Dave Kline.

Welcome back to The Fantasy Football League Power Rankings! We’re back baby! Well, that was a pretty shit week 1 huh? Bengals blew, scores were low, and QB play was atrocious across the league! Below you will find the Power Rankings after week 1. Not much to go off, but you’ll find some quick bits and end of season Championship odds.

1. Dave

What can we say? Are you guys really going to let me win the belt again? Weakness is clearly the 2nd QB position, but WR’s also over performed and ended up having ⅗ top scorers for the week. Lamar will clearly need to perform better as the season goes on for title hopes to stay strong. If the team stays healthy, back to back championships are a strong possibility.

Odds: +250

2. Justin

Although he doesn’t have as many belts to show for it, Justin is consistently the best Fantasy manager in this league. It wasn’t until after the draft that I could truly appreciate Justin’s draft approach. I think I can say he by far had the smartest strategy. Pulling off blockbuster preseason trades to get very solid guys as later round keepers. His roster is loaded, but QB will always be the worry. More than likely one of you hosers will accept a trade to give him by far the best team at some point. Please don’t.

Odds: +350

3. Elkins

Due to inheriting a championship caliber team 2 seasons ago, Elkins has a solid team for the 2nd year in a row. Calvin Ridley looks like a stud draft pick to go along with a very balanced starting roster. RB’s are a weakness, so he needs his star players, (Hurts, Ridley, Jefferson) can consistently put up big numbers.

Odds: +450

4. Drew

Tough first week matchup against me. Would have beat other teams had he played them. Fingers crossed Dionte Johnson gets healthy quickly. One of my favorite rosters in the league. Drew’s team doesn’t have any major holes to fill. Top 2 RB’s should carry this team but will need more consistent WR scores to bring home the belt.

Odds:+550

5. Taylor

Honestly wanted to rank this team higher. Another of my favorite rosters. RBs are the definite strength of this team, but I see no major holes to fill. Clearly will need Moore to contribute more on a weekly basis, but I have a hard time believing this isn’t a playoff team. Only issue is by far the weakest bench in the league. Injuries could completely derail the championship hopes.

Odds: +700

6. Mitch

Solid week 1, but has a few weak spots on the roster. Could potentially have a huge steal with Richardson as QB2. Kirk did not perform, and looks to no longer be Lawrence’s favorite target with the arrival of Ridley. I think as the season goes on this team will find its stride. Only a couple standout players, but I believe the floor will be a higher score per week than most of the league.

Odds: +1000

7. Cha

At first glance, this roster doesn’t stand out as being elite. However, if he can get consist QB play as the season goes on, this team also has a high floor. Unlikely that Josh Allen turns the ball over 4-5 times every week. I think this week was one of the lower scores this team will put up. My only worry is there aren’t enough big time players to get this team to a title.

Odds: +1200

8. Jason

I like this team, but don’t love it. Dobbins getting hurt is a major blow to the roster but not one that should keep this team out of a playoff run. Will need WR’s to put up better numbers, especially London. RB’s and QB’s are the strength of this team. Those 4 players alone should make this team a tough matchup week to week.

Odds: +1200

9. Jesse

By no means would I say this roster is weak, but will need some special seasons from a couple guys to make the playoffs. If there is one roster to have a HUGE week randomly, it’s this one. I think consistency might be hard to find, but if guys start playing well across the board, this team could ruin quite a few championship hopes.

Odds: +1200

10. Mike

If Mike has this full roster 1 month before the draft, I would say it was the team to beat. But JT holdout looms large over this season. But even as I write this, I’m having a hard time justifying the 10th spot. I like the roster a lot, but will need bigger numbers from WRs not named Chase if this team wants to make a deep playoff run.

Editors Note: If for some reason I win the league, everyone needs to remember Mike traded me CMC and Lamar for Mahomes….

Odds: +1400

11. Andrew

Another team where I am not sure where the points are going to come from. Has great QB combo with Tua and Burrow but the flex positions have no standout players. This could be a playoff team, but might need to make some moves to get a player or two that can add consistency to this lineup. I expect this team to have some very high scores, but also some very low ones.

Odds +1500

12. Co-Owners

Did we think it would be anyone else at the bottom? Roster was thin to begin with, but injuries to Rodgers and Kupp (also Jeudy & Watson) almost immediately put this team in the running for repeat co owners. Draft strategy was a little suspect and got them off to a bad start. It’s a long season and things could turn around, but major roster moves will be necessary to keep this team out of the basement.

Odds: +9000
