Proposed Rule Changes for 2022

Pick You Playoff Opponent

This one seems like a no brainer to me and, to be honest, I can't believe this rule wasn't already in place. Ok, so here's how it works: before each round of the playoffs the top seeds selects their playoff opponent. Opponents must be selected by, let's say, EOD Tuesday. No protections would be in place, meaning the top seeded team could pick the #2 seed if they so choose.

So, why do this, you ask? Well it's fun and should add to the chaos and general animosity amongst league members.

Extended Waivers

The NFL schedule continues to expand away from their traditional Thursday night and Sunday afternoon to Monday night schedule. This has caused a few issues with waivers running only once prior to a Saturday or early Sunday games. This rule change proposal would add Saturday, and possibly Friday, waivers to the existing Thursday and Sunday schedule.

Low Scorer Pays High Scorer

Here's a spicy one! Today each week the highest scoring team is awarded a $25 payout. This payout comes from the pool of league dues. This proposed rule would instead take that money from the lowest scoring team of the week. The idea here is to further deter poorly performing teams.

An updated payout structure may look something like this:

Buy In
  • $100 from each owner
  • Weekly Low Score: $25
Payouts
  • 1st Place: $700
  • 2nd Place: $400
  • 3rd Place: $100
  • Regular Season Winner: $100
  • Weekly High Score: $25
