Draft Grades

It's time for some knee-jerk analysis, just hours after the 2020 Draft!

Justin

Love the first three picks (Thomas, Jacobs, and Godwin) for Justin here. After that it gets a little dicey for me. Justin spent 3 of his next 4 picks on RBs, but all three come with questions marks. Melvin Gordon and Devin Singletary are each starters on the depth chart but both will lose touches to their backups. Fournette, who was released by the Jags and signed by the Bucs earlier this week, is currently third on the depth chart and seemed like a reach at the 84th pick. Late in the draft I really liked the John Brown and Teddy Birdgewater picks.

Grade: B-

Drew & Cha

A nice draft for the Co-Owners! I really like this team's RBs, and not just the top 3. Moss and Breida should see carries right away while Darrell Henderson and Tony Pollard could be major contributors later in the season. Tom Brady and Gonk both seemed like major reaches but sometimes you just need to get your guy I guess. WR looks like a big concern in both talent and depth.

Grade: ★★★★☆

Ryan

I think my favorite thing about this team is the TE position. Darren Waller is coming off a good season and Hayden Hurst should see of bunch of targets in the Atlanta offense. Ryan should expect several bad trade offers from Justin in the coming weeks. Robert Woods, Mike Evans, and Courtland Sutton look to be a solid to good group at WR and the RBs, lead by McCaffery, should be productive as well. As always, Ryan's QB situation is a mess.  Ryan will rely on Joe Burrow having an Andrew Luck like rookie season if he wants to make waves this season.

Grade: Good

Dave

I like this team a whole lot more than my own team. At the top, Dave takes the reigning MVP and the top receiver in the KC offense. Dave followed that pick up with a couple high ceiling, bounce back season RBs in James Conner and David Johnson. The Kupp and Higbee picks are interesting to me because Higbee took a large number of Kupp's targets in the second half of last season. Late in the draft Dave was smart to protect himself from injuries by selecting Mecole Hardman and Duke Johnson. The Tyrod Taylor pick could be a steal if the Chargers decide to sit Herbert all season.

Grade: πŸ‘πŸ‘

Andrew

Andrew couldn't be bothered to show up for the draft this year but he still came away with a good WR core.

Grade: Incomplete

Jason

I like the QB combo of Russell Wilson and Josh Allen. Those two combined with Saquon should keep Jason competitive most weeks. The WRs group needs OBJ to return to his NYG days if it's going to be productive. The RB group, after Saquon, are all guys that could be contributors but currently are not the top guys on the depth chart. If Justin Herbert doesn't take over as the starter early in the season, Jason is going to be scrambling for a QB to fill in during BYE weeks.

Grade: 74/100

Eric

Eric started off the draft grabbing a couple feature backs that play for teams that LOVE to run the ball. Good Stuff! Eric's next three picks were all dedicated to the QB position as he selected, Brees, Cam, and Big Ben. I really like this idea here for Eric, and the Brees pick specifically could be a steal. In round 6 Eric selected, oft injured and aging, AJ Green as his first WR while guys like Tyler Lockett, Robert Woods, and Keenan Allen were still available. In the later rounds Eric filled out his roster with a couple Bengal backups and Randell Cobb. This is a good team but WR and depth look like real issues.

Grade: 69%

Tim

LOVE the Watson and Rodgers QB combo! Rodgers specifically could be a steal if he's a motivated as it seems he is by the Jordan Love pick. Having to learn a new offense has me a little down on Hopkins this year but I like the value in the 3rd round. Paired with Calvin Ridley should make for a good WR combo. The RBs after Mixon aren't great and Tim didn't select a 3rd QB, so I would expect our reigning champ to be making some moves early in the season.

Grade: Very Nice (Borat Voice)

Mitch

Finally I get to talk about MY TEAM! I didn't have a pick in the 1st round but I had an extra pick in the 2nd and 3rd. I used those picks to grab Travis Kelce and Jared Goff. Goff was likely a bit of a reach but I like his upside. My other QBs, Mayfield, Lock, and Trubisky are all young and could see a jump in produciton. What I really like about this team is the WRs. I didn't expect to see Julio available in the 3rd and I LOVE Will Fuller this season if he can stay healthy. Late in the draft I grabbed 4 RBs in hopes that one of them is able to give me RB2 production at some point this season.

Grade: 8/10

Taylor

Taylor spent two of his first 3 picks on QBs and did well to add to the group late with the Philip Rives pick. Taylor also managed to snag Kittle in the 4th, which seems like great value to me, and added Raheem Mostert as an RB2 in Round 6. The WRs aren't exciting but they should be productive and Taylor has several to choose from. The Boston Scott pick late in the draft could be a steal.

Grade: APPROVED

Jesse

With his TWO 1st Round Picks Jesse snagged RBs Alvin Kamara and Chiefs rookie
Clyde Edwards-Helaire. I'm a little surprised he went RB with both picks knowing he wouldn't have another pick until the 4th Round. Jesse grabbed his first QB in the 6th round when he selected Daniel Jones, and followed that up by selecting 3 more QBs in Rounds 9, 10, and 11. Cousins should provide stability while the other two, Minshew and Tua, provide some potential upside. I really liked Jesse grabbing a rookie RBs in the middle rounds in Cam Akers and JK Dobbins. This is the best RB group in the league.

Grade: A+

Mike

Mike appears to be all in on the Cowboys offense this year after grabbing Zeke and Dak with his top two picks and later selecting Michale Gallop. The RB group after Zeke is filled with a couple 2017 pro-bowlers that can't stay healthy. The WR group doesn't have a star but it is deep. Alan Lazar in the last round looks like a steal.

Grade: Bogey
