*Friends, it's good to be back doing the Power Rankings! As I write this six teams are tied at the top of the standings with a 6-3 record, while another two sit just outside at 5-4, and Jesse is holding on with four wins. This is all possible thanks to a historically poor performance from Eric and a very unlucky season from Drew. How will this all shake out over the final three weeks of the regular season? I DON'T KNOW, but here are some thoughts on each team.
1. Melkins
Record: 6-3 | Schedule: Mitch, Dave, Eric
Yes, the Mike Evans deal looks like a big win for Melkins RIGHT NOW, but who knows how this will all play out in the end. Best that we just never mention this deal ever again.
Of all the 6-3 team, Melkins has the easiest path to the top seed. A healthy Pat Mahomes and a ded Le'Veon Bell could make this week's matchup interesting. Even if the Co-Owners stumble this week, they should have no issues taking wins the final two weeks before seeing how the tie-breakers will play out.
2. Taylor
Record: 6-3 | Schedule: Justin, Cha, Drew
Taylor finds himself in a pickle this week. Jacoby Brissett is looking VERY questionable to play and Tom Brady is on BYE, leaving him with Jameis Winston as his only healthy QB. Even with two healthy QBs, Taylor would be a big underdog to Justin this week. A matchup the following week against Chandler won't be any easier, but he will at least get Brady back.
Interestingly enough our current All-Play Wins leader is 0-3 against teams with a 6-3 record. I guess that's a way to say, this game is very silly.
Justin
Record: 6-3 | Schedule: Taylor, Drew, Mitch
Cha
Record: 6-3 | Schedule: Andrew, Taylor, Tim
Tim
Record: 6-3 | Schedule: Eric, Andrew, Cha
Mitch
Record: 6-3 | Schedule: Melkins, Jason, Justin
The remaining schedule is BRUTAL and Pat Mahomes is still not playing football. How many more 230 Point games does Ryan Tannehill have in him? I'm guessing ZERO and will take the under. Even if Mahomes comes back this week (or next) the Chiefs have a BYE in Week 12 when I play Justin; making my Week 11 matchup against Jason a MUST WIN.
Jason
Record: 5-4 | Schedule: Drew, Mitch, Dave
Jason's has a favorable remaining schedule, but he has a big problem at QB. Earlier this week is was announced that Nick Foles was returning to action and that means the end for the Gardnew Minshew experience and leaving Jason with only one QB.
Exactly how Jason fills that hole will be interesting. I would expect him to throw a TON of his $278 FAAB on the new Bengals QB (who's name I don't feel like looking up right now). If that doesn't work out, the trade market will be filled with owners looking to prey on Jason's predicament.
Jesse
Record: 4-5 | Schedule: Dave, Eric, Andrew
Jesse has been playing the long game all season and things are FINALLY coming together for him. Brees returned last week in a big way, Zach Pascal looks like a startable WR, and Jesse did well to flip Kyle Allen for a starting WR. That said Jesse needs to run the table and hope the tie-breakers work in his favor.
Andrew
Record: 5-4 | Schedule: Cha, Tim, Jesse
Andrew, has been on cruise control this year, to say the least, but still finds himself with an outside shot at the playoffs. Winner of his last four matchups, Andrew has feasted on the league's weakest opponents in recent weeks. None of the remaining matchups will be that easy however. Still Andrew will have a shot at a W in all three. Running the table seems very unlikely but a 2-1 finish could allow Andrew to sneak in on a tie-breaker.
10. Drew
Record: 1-8 | Schedule: Jason, Justin, Taylor
I briefly mentioned this in the into, but the schedule has not been kind to Drew this season. His All-Play Record reflects that of a 4 Win team, so he's not exactly as easy of a Win as his 1-8 record would suggest. With essentially a two game lead on Eric, Drew just has to hold on these last three weeks to avoid the dreaded auto co-owner assignment.
11. Dave
Record: 3-6 | Schedule: Jesse, Melkins, Jason
12. Eric
Record: 0-9 | Schedule: Tim, Jesse, Melkins
I give Eric a lot of grief on here about not paying attention, and while all of that is with merit, I will point out Eric has made some moves recently. None of these moves have been any good, but it's nice to see him logging in for 3 minutes a week to put in waiver claims or accept whatever trash offer is currently sitting at the top of his Pending Trades queue. I'm just glad his co-owner will update his team name / logo next year.
Good luck these next three weeks everyone!!
