Just two weeks remain in the regular season and all but one team (Dave) still has something to play for! Jason will spew 500,000 words next week on every potential playoff scenario, so this week I'm going to take a look at each matchup.
Jesse (5-5) vs Eric (0-10)
Matchup Rating: 0 Stars
A loss for Eric would confirm what we've known for weeks now, Eric will a co-owner next season. It obviously depends on the second leg of the partnership, but it will be interesting to see how this plays out. The last two years have shown that co-owners can work well together but Eric may be the perfect co-owner for someone who doesn't actually want to co-own!
Jesse meanwhile is coming off a Win over Dave, despite scoring only 885 Points. As of this writing Jesse is a HEAVY favorite but Eric (unsurprisingly) hasn't set his lineup this week just yet. Swapping out injured on BYE week players won't make the projections all that much closer. This is another MUST WIN for Jesse as will his Week 12 matchup against Andrew.
Drew (1-9) vs Justin (7-3)
Matchup Rating: Rotten
Justin is nearly a lock to make the playoffs and a win this week would clinch that for him while also pushing him closer to another regular season league title. Chris Carson and Davante Adams are both on BYE but Justin possess good depth and should be able to pull off a win. Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are in fantastic matchups against Houston and Miami respectively.
Drew is starting Dwayne Haskins this week and that's all you really need to know about his team. I'm wondering if he's considered swapping Haskins out for someone on his bench, but it looks like Haskins is the play here with Alshon Jeffery still ded and Frank Gore losing touches to Devin Singletary. Drew's RB trio of Zeke, Jordan Howard, and Ronald Jones could keep this matchup interesting. A loss and an Eric Win (LOL) would put Drew on the hot seat in Week 12.
Melkins (7-3) vs Dave (3-7)
Matchup Rating: C+
Mike's out of the county leaving Ryan at the controls of a playoff bound team for the first time ever. A matchup against Dave seems like this team can put things on cruise control but Matt Stafford is ded and Matt Ryan might be too. The trade deadline is still a couple weeks away but this team might have to make a trade for a QB if it wants to not just make the playoffs but make a playoff run.
Tim (7-3) vs Andrew (5-5)
Matchup Rating: 7/10
Andrew isn't mathematically eliminated from the playoffs just yet, but with a tough opponent this week, Aaron Rodgers on BYE and a ded Austin Hooper, Andrew's season looks to be coming to an end. A couple rays of hope to hold onto are the emergence of Cristian Kirk / Devin Singletary (getting his second mention in this write up!) and a healthy James Conner.
Mitch (6-4) vs Jason (6-4)
Matchup Rating: Two Thumbs Up!
The projections have this nearly dead even and both teams very much NEED a win this week. For me, this feels like a must win with Justin on the schedule and Mahomes on BYE next week. This wouldn't be an issue if I had just filled my TE slot last week with nearly any viable option and beaten Melkins. The good news, I do have Pat Mahomes going against the Chargers this week!
For Jason a win this week would potentially lock up a playoff spot and put him in position to snag a BYE in the first round of the playoffs if he takes care of business against Dave next week. Jason's RB situation could make or break this matchup. Josh Jacobs has an amazing matchup at home vs Cincinnati but he's been banged up and the Raiders may choose to play it safe with their prize rookie. David Johnson was benched last week in favor of Kenyon Drake (no really!). While that might just have been a one time thing, it does make things a little dicier for Jason.
Cha (7-3) vs Taylor (6-4)
Matchup Rating: Game Of The Week
Taylor catches Cha at a great time with Russell Wilson and the Seahawks on BYE. Evan Ingram is out this week but the rest of Taylor's team is ready to roll. Fantasy Superstar Christian McCaffery should run all over the Falcons defense and both Tom Brady and Jameis Winston have favorable matchups as well. With the Garvin Bowl on tap next week, a loss this week wouldn't be the end of the world for Taylor.
