A third of the season is in the books and amazingly half the league stands at 3-1! Not all 3-1 teams are equal however, so let's take a look at where everyone stands in the Week 5 Power Rankings.
1. Taylor 3-1 | 33-11 | All-Play (1st) | Wins: Drew, Dave, Eric
Taylor boasts the best All-Play record in the league and while that's indicative of his team's success the contrarian would point out that this strong start wasn't necessary for Taylor to arrive at his 3-1 record. That's a long was of saying Taylor's three wins have come against teams with a combined record of 1-11. How Taylor handles a strong group on QBs going forward will be interesting. It's possible he moves on from one of them for a RB upgrade is Freeman or Michel don't improve over the next few weeks.
2. Mitch 3-1 | 20-14 All-Play (3rd) | Wins: Taylor, Drew, Cha
The Mahomes / Wentz combo will continue to keep my team in any matchup but the emergence of the Tampa Bay WRs has really propelled me the last three weeks. Some of my RBs have started to emerge, but none of them have exactly "popped". Figuring out who should start on a given week will continue to give me headaches the rest of the season.
3. Cha 3-1 | 29-15 All-Play (4th)
4. Mike & Ryan 3-1 | 31,13 All-Play (2nd) | Wins: Eric, Andrew, Jesse
5. Justin 3-1 | 28-16 All-Play (5th)
6. Tim 2-2 | 24-20 All-Play (6th)
7. Jesse 2-2 | 21-23 All-Play (7th) | Wins: Andrew, Tim
Jesse's playing the long game this season and you really have to respect that. It would be very easy for him to panic after losing Squon, Damien Williams, Sam Darnold, Brees, and probably a couple other guys I'm forgetting. Instead Jesse is holding strong, working the wire, and praying he can sneak into the playoffs and make a run. The upcoming schedule is rough however, with Jason, Justin, and Taylor coming up next.
8. Jason 3-1 | 20-24 All-Play (8th) | Wins: Dave, Eric, Andrew
The wins aren't exactly impressive and the All-Play record would suggest Jason isn't even a playoff team. Jason has only two matchups the rest of the season against losing teams (Drew, Dave). The QB situation is a real mess and trying to play the matchups with these guys can't be fun. Still, it's easy to imagine a world where Mayfield and OBJ start putting it together and Jason's team starts putting up more than 1100 points in a week.
9. Andrew 1-3 | 13-31 All-Play (11th) | Wins: Justin
Congrats to Andrew on his first win of the season last week. Fun fact, Andrew has increased his score every week this year. If he keeps up this pace he will win the league championship with a score of 156,548.7! Andrew had to like seeing 1st Round pick, James Conner FINALLY show up last week. Rodgers and Goff are also heating up and Mark Ingram and Austin Hooper are top five at their respective positions. The schedule is pretty clear going forward, with only Mitch and Cha currently sporting winning records. Not saying it's going to happen, but Andrew's got a shot at the playoffs!
10. Dave 1-3 | 17-27 All-Play (9th)
11. Drew 0-4 | 16-28 All-Play (10th) | Wins: null
The schedule hasn't done Drew any favors and until last week's Eric like 494.4 total, it was easy to make a case for Drew as a playoff team. Good news for Drew, the next two games are against Eric and Andrew, so he should at least be able to avoid the auto co-owner fate. If Drew has aspirations greater than avoiding last place he needs to pin his hopes on the likes of Danny Dimes, Jimmy G, and Haskins hitting the next few weeks so he can trade one of them off for sartable position player or two.
12. Eric 0-5 | 2-42 All-Play (12th) | Wins: lol
Already starting two TEs (why?!), Eric is again faced with the possibility of not having two healthy QBs this week. Eric's best chance of avoiding last place would be to take down, also winless, Drew in this week's matchup. Unfortunately for Eric he's currently a 300+ underdog. Maybe Eric will pickup one of the starting QBs on the wire and put up a fight this week.
