It's hard to believe but we are already halfway through the season. Which of course means we are just a few weeks away from Jason's annual 500,000 word "playoff tiebreaker scenarios" league note. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to hand out some Midseason awards!
*** Best Draft Pick ***
Nominees:- Todd Gurley (1st Overall)
- Melvin Gordon (12th Overall)
- Patrick Mahomes (43rd Overall)
Winner: Patrick Mahomes
Gurley and Gordon have more than lived up to the pre-draft hype, but Mahomes (Overall Points Leader) takes this award going away. Fun fact: Jesse wanted to take hometown crush Marcus Mariota with this pick!
*** Best Matchup ***
Nominees:- Week 2: Jason 1213.6 vs Dave 1148.8
- Week 3: Tim 1053.2 vs Dave 1067.4
- Week 5: Jason 1360 vs Eric 1219.4
Winner: Week 2: Jason vs Dave
This wasn't the highest scoring or even the closest matchup, but in retrospect this matchup featured two of the top three teams (Hi Andrew!) going toe to toe. Jason and Dave both showed the depth of their respective teams by overcoming total duds while putting up solid scores. In the end Jason handed Dave his only loss thanks in large part to a 219 point effort from Matt Breida.

This was a tough one, but if I'm only looking at the first 6 Weeks I have to give it to Harvard Boy. Fitz was THE BEST player in fantasy the first three weeks of the year (yes even better than Mahomes).

Turns out Sam is the former Rams kicker who went 1/3 on FGA before being cut. Normally that wouldn't get my attention but when someone (RYAN) drops $30 on a guy like that...

All of these are very good nominees. "You guys are going DOWN!" is an all-time classic, and Cha telling Andrew to "Stop it" gave me a good chuckle. What separates our winner however isn't just the perfect use of "suxx", but the fact this comment was posted in a matchup Andrew was not a part of. Well played, Andrew.

The Co Boners top overall pick has played 2 Quarters of football this season, but it sounds like he will return sometime between this Sunday and Christmas. The same can't be said however for Freeman and Gaoppolo who are both ded. I feel for Dave who lost his 2nd Round pick but his team is good enough that it's not a season killer. Drew on the other hand has a bad team and was forced to trade for Blake Bortles to replace Jimmy G.
