12. "NO-BELL" Prize (Taylor Garvin): 1-1
Taylor has an award-winning cast, featuring stars like Royce Freeman and Trey Burton. If you’re struggling to put a face to these names I don’t blame you, though you should really be struggling to figure out how they made the cut for this roster. With Le’Veon Bell out until probably game 10, a suspended Edelman (Who’s best games are behind him), and an injury prone Marcus Mariota, I’m not sure what’s to like looking at the next few games for Taylor. His current starting roster boasts a PRK of 18.8 though, which is oddly high for a dumpster fire in the making. Taylor is currently second to last in PF while being gifted the second lowest PA.
11. Doggy Daddy (Eric Ridder): 0-2
I feel bad. Eric is currently getting dump trunked as far as PA goes. A whopping 3065 pts have been scored against him in just two games, for those keep tracking at home that’s over 1500 a game (150 little score). I can’t be too upset for him, he’s done just ok in scoring, currently in the bottom third of the league in PF. His team looks good on paper.. in 2015. PRK 27.3
10. Dr ew (Drew Garvin): 0-2
Based on rank, I must place this team here. Drew is suffering from a couple of above average score matchups while struggling to put up 1000 pts and currently resides in the bottom of the league PF wise. In this league, if you aren’t going to put up consistent scores of over 1k a week, you aren’t a contender, and you might not even see the playoffs. With the league average coming in just below 1100 pts per week, I don’t see much hope for DR EW if he can’t patch his leaky RB situation with Mixon looking to be out for 2-3 games and an potential rebuilding of the WR2 gap he has with an ancient L.FITZ questionable with the hammy strain. 20.6 PRK
9. Big CTE (Justin Laurence): 1-1
Can someone please tell Justin that drafting 50 QBs is not a legitimate strategy? And then tell him to please quit offering me Ryan Fitzpatrick for my best players? Listen, I think Justin is going to be able to develop a pretty strong roster, but how many weeks of crap tier scoring will that be before people start getting desperate for replacements, and will it be too late? The Big CTE claims league low in PF while enjoying the luxury having a 4th lowest PA. As it stands today, I have no faith in his supporting cast at WR2, TE, FLEX or D. PRK 23.6
8. ME 1-1
This is the part of the PR where I say something like “could be better” to show how humble I am and then “getting better” to demonstrate confidence and then “going to be amazing” to wishful think all my problems away. I’ll spare you.
7. Gronkytonk U (Mike Eckstein): 1-1
Gronkytonk fields a middling squad, this isn’t even an insult. Mike is currently 6/12 median PF, 7/12 median PA, averaging 1030 pts to a league average 1090. The one bright spot is his 4th ranked PRK at 17.1. Can Rodgers and company stay healthy? Can the RB1 situation be sorted out? Gronkytonk seems like the team that can surprise with the right moves down the line. For now though, it’s only appropriate to keep them in the middle.
6. F'in Catalina Wine Sixer (Tim Lamb): 1-1
How am I supposed to feel about this team? Boasting the league HIGH and LOW scores in just two weeks, what is this team? Should I be optimistic for the future or fearful of the past? Tim fields two top ten QBs, a sold WR core and respectable RB situation, albeit slightly below average. More to follow when I decide if this is a boom or bust team. PRK 21.9
5. Co Boners (Mitch Mustain, Jesse Butschie): 1-1
I refuse to believe that this rag tag partnership somehow thoughtfully drafted as well as they did. I’m certain it was 100% like spinning a globe to pick your next vacation. Regardless, the bone squad has managed to scrape together a soon to be insane QB core, a soon to be insane RB core, a top tier TE and a stellar D. This team, much like Eric’s, has suffered from a splash of PA well higher than average in their two match ups, and with their top third of league PF, should realistically be a 2-0 squad. I hesitate to rank them higher due to lingering injuries, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the next PR master move them up. PRK 24.9 (20.8 without an injured Fournette)
Jason’s team concerns me and scares me at the same time. I’m looking at a team with no outright stars; however, if you get the ball a lot does that matter? Players like Adam Thielen who play second fiddle to Diggs (on the depth chart a tleast) and Jimmy Graham who you assume should be amazing but where has he been lately, are potential league leaders under the efficiency of their star QBs. Don’t sleep on Breida either who is likely to steal away the starting job in SF if he keeps it up. Averaging 1100 pts a week, MTAT looks to be a strong contender if things break the right way for his players in the huddle. A strong PRK of 17 rounds out my assessment of this team, and as it stands firmly places Jason’s team in title contention.
3. A Real Nice Sandwhich (Chandler Dethy): 1-1
A real nice team. Is sandwich purposely spelled wrong? Cha has a lot of good things going for him. A decent QB core, though I’m not hot on Dak. What could be a stellar RB/WR/TE group for the remainder of the season and solid special teams. Can Odell start catching balls from his crap QB Manning, who I hate for very unprocessed and internal reasons that I’m still working out, or will this be a weak spot in Cha’s team? Points have not been hard for this team to come by, averaging and basically scoring 1150 in each outing. Consistency will be king in this league, here’s another team I think should be 2-0, I anticipate this team to move up fast if things stay that way. Sandwhich’s PRK of 18.4 say a lot about their upside going forward.
2. Illegal Aliens (Andrew Coleman): 2-0
This team is nuts. Did Andrew auto draft? Should we all just auto draft from now on? 2600 pts so far, only bested by Dave’s standout week 1 performance. I like everything about this team. Two top tier QBs, surprising yet solid RB core with AP and Kamara, breakout flex with Conner out of shittsburg, and serviceable to solid WR’s. I do find his LAC heavy team to be a concern both in the bye week, and a potential disaster if they don’t perform any given Sunday. A 2nd place PRK 14.3 has me high on these illegal aliens.
Dave is at it again! The starting team alone makes me think this squad goes deep into the playoffs, the bench potential in a healthy Freeman, Darnold’s upside, and perhaps a few key pickups along the way has me believing he’ll be wearing the belt come December. Dave has a league leading 2660 pts, a league leading PRK 11.5 (3 pts higher than the next best), a #1 WR, #3 QB, #5 RB.. the list goes on. Can he bolster his WR2 spot? Can he improve his depth at flex? These questions, while valid, do not diminish the product of the quality currently fielded.
