Week 8 Power Rankings

NBA tipped off it's season last night, turning my attention away from the gridiron to the hardwood for the moment. With that in mind I went with an NBA theme to this week's PR. Enjoy.

1. Elkins - Atlanta Hawks
Like last season's Hawks, Elkins, is the surprise of league while putting up an unthinkable winning streak. And while both team's runs were lots of fun, we all know with out a superstar/quarterback the dream will end well short of a championship.

2. Tim - Houston Rockets
The Rockets are LOADED this season. Go ahead and check out their depth chart real quick, it's crazy. They gunna win like 65 games. Tim is also good, yes I'm finally going to admit it. Adding to an already stacked lineup, Lamar Miller and possibly DMC have become fantasy contributors. Oh and Tim just added Julio Jones!

3. Drew - Brooke Lopez
The good Lopez/Garvin brother. DYK Danny Woodhead is the 6th highest scoring RB?! This is not a world I want to live in. For real how is Drew good?! He has three players projected to score more than 100 points and his bench is the worst in the league.

4. Justin - Kobe
Justin has reached a Kobe level of irrational confidence, hell I'm starting to believe that Justin won't lose another game this year. The three headed RB monster of AP, Gurley and Ivory is EASILY the best in the league. It doesn't even matter that his QBs are league average. I'm pretty sure Justin is going to make a deep playoff run.

5. Mitch - JR Smith
Both JR and I both THINK we are among best in the league and have the ability to throw down 360 dunks whenever we feel like it. BTW I'm looking for an upgrade at TE so if you need a RB/WR I have some good players I'm willing to deal.

6. Dave - Dirk
A fading league champ that has been let down by management (Cuban/Dan), Dave is still a playoff contender but this won't be his year.

7. Cha - Melo
No matter how many points Cha/Melo put up the results are never good. Cha can either play like 2014 Melo and fight his way to a first round playoff loss or the 2015 Melo and just lay down.

8. Taylor - Robin Lopez
The lesser half of the Lopez/Garvin brothers. Still, he's NOT THAT BAD! Hell I've got Robin, and Brooke for that matter, in my NBA league. And while I would never draft Taylor, he's been alright in his rookie season.

9. Jason - 2014 Bulls
Management did all they could after to sabotage the Bulls 2014 season, including trading Deng, but the Bulls refused to tank and somehow wound up in the playoffs. Much of the same can be said about Jason who keeps making dumb-ass trades but might just find a way to sneak into the playoffs.

10. Eric - Kendrick Perkins
Remember when Kendrick Perkins was a starter on two really good teams for waaaaay too long? Sometimes terrible players just happen to catch a good wave.

11. Mike/Andrew - Tyreke Evans / Anthony Davis
You've got an all league talent on your team (AD/Bortles) but for some reason the team is in the hands of a total dummy (Tyreke/Mike). At least the Pels have the decency to TRY and put pieces around their one good player through trades. Mikes just declines all descent offers and asks for a 2 for 1 that includes your best player.

12. Jesse - Flip Saunders
