Week 9 Power Rankings: Brought to you by Jesse!

In spirit of over-hyping the first college football playoff rankings, I chose to borrow they're use of quality wins, eye test and strength of schedule to this point and heading into the last portion of the season to evaluate the leagues teams.  Only the first 4 seeds have been numerically awarded, the rest fall in a very loose "Power Ranking" with strong consideration for how I predict each team will finish.  Without further a due.... Your Week 9 power Rankings

CFP Seeding
1.) Elkins
2.) Tim
3.) Drew
4.) Mitch

ryan 8-0 -
Ryan came out strong with a big win over Aaron rogers and cha.  But was it built to last? After a free win from the elder boyz he smoked mitch in an American conference shoot out gaining another quality win in the first 3 weeks.  The gods were in his favor as he squeaked out a "meh" win from dave followed by and equally forgettable performance in our match up. He continued rolling through mediocrity while the jersey purchases piled up taking down a shitty jason team giving the feeling of a colts team prancing through the afc south.  It was week 7 when ryan's team got back on the score board annihilating a floundering eric ridder team and putting up enough to make justin not feel as bad about scoring under 900.

Undefeated is undefeated, and with half of his wins coming with 1200+ scoring he must feel good about the state of affairs.  But with only 2 quality wins in the first 3 weeks of the season, one must ask, what will he look like seeded against the cream of the crop? We'll find out this week as he takes on the surging Tim team.

Next 4: tim, jesse, tay, drew

12-0! or 10-2? they both sound great!  But does the undefeated team roll into a perfect season and fizzle in the playoffs?  Would a healthy late season loss make these Kentucky wildcats primed for tough competition?  Either way, Ryan has nearly locked up the #1 bye week seed but the playoffs is where the drama starts!

tim 6-2 -
Tim started off strong with almost 1300 against tay in week 1, followed up with a good close(r) win against eric before falling under the 1000 marker and getting a loss to drew.  Tim got a freebie from Jason in week 4 before posting another high scoring surge against Justin and dave leading up to his game where he scores 1,000,000 points against my team and following that up with a tough loss against and unpredictable cha team.  With tim only winning one game that provided any competition it shouldn't hold the same weight with consistent 1200+ scoring outburst. His well rounded team could play super bowl spoiler to a potentially undefeated elkins patriot team.

next 4: elkins, justin, mitch, mike/andrew

Predicted finish: 9-3 could be what it takes to secure the second bye week.  With a predicted win over one of the top 4, mitch or elkins, tim will have a good idea of what he will look like going into the playoff. How will they fair in the closing 4 weeks and the beginning 2 of the playoffs?

drew 6-2 -
drew lost week 1 to eric before pulling 4 in a row with 2 of those being quality wins over a yet to crumble jason team, an ever improving (worsening) Justin team and putting up a nice score on tay for the garvin bowl.  He then lost a good one to a mitch team on the rise before receiving a couple freebies from mike/andrew and then dave.  His next 4 will determine a lot, with his record, with his seeding and with the eye test.  The biggest question we still have, who is this team?

next 4: jesse, tay, cha, elkins

predicted finish: a 9-3 finish will be enough to throw circumstance into the second bye week slot.  Drew has the schedule to make a case for it, but what will this confusing group of players do in the playoffs?

Mitch 5-3 -
week 1 garbage win over Mike/andrew followed by a garbage performance against a then strong dave team before loosing a shoot out to our soon to be undefeated gronks.  it was in week 4 Mitch took full advantage of "scoring your all time high against my team." He had a quality win over Drew and then picks up 2 gimmes against taylor and eric headed into the last 4 games.  With his team coming together it will take winning at least 2 more to see what his team is made of and where he will stand for the play offs.

next 4: jason, cha, tim, justin

Predicted Finish: 7-5.  Mitch could win out but most likely will split the last 4.  As history has shown, watch out for this squirmy bastard in the playoffs.  He moves like a pool shark and could fall flat in round 1 and call it a fun season or take it to the wire and crush someone's Chinese backed dreams

Eric 4-4 -
Eric had a week 1 win against and Detroit lion drew team before loosing a close one to a strong tim team. Justin gave him a freebie in week 3 before loosing the "who can score less in a win" bowl with tay in week 4. He bounced back by winning the "who can score even less in a win" bowl against jason and then had a surprising mega outburst against the aforementioned up and down cha team. Coming off of that big win by scoring no points against elkins and then loosing handily to mitch one must wonder, is this the new metric focused money ball team, or a classic low scoring anti-waiver fizzle out ridder team?

next 4: mike/andrew, jason, dave, jesse

predicted finish: 8-4!? or 6-6? Eric has the schedule to close it out, but will he come out flat one too many times?  It is in all likelyhood that his schedule plays the biggest role in his play off birth.  But can a shit team play spoiler?

Tay 4-4 -
Justin handed Taylor his first solo owned fantasy team win in week 2 and Eric was gracious enough to hand him another freebie in week 4 before drew squeaked out the garvin bowl victory.  He then defeated a lousy andrew/mike team, then loosing to an underwhelming mitch performance before joining the trend of going bonkers against my team.  Taylor has not had a back to back win or loss all year.  Will the trend come to an end against a dave team watching sunday from the hospital bed or will he continue his random mediocrity surviving his goal of any place but last?

next 4: dave, drew, elkins, cha

predicted finish: 6-6 is definitely enough to keep him out of last place and being the last co-owner (barring a lottery) should be enough to keep him from co-owning next year.  Along with a .500 finish brings the possibility of a playoff birth!  Much like the American conference leaders looking from the outside in, it will take a number of acute circumstances but there still remains a possibility one sneaks into the playoff!

Mike/Andrew 3-5 -
after starting the first two weeks flat they took full advantage of Big Ben going down mid game and beat my team.  They went on and picked up a gimme from an up and down cha team week 4 then had poor back to back showings before a beat down on a limping jason team that managed to put up 1000+
With 2 of 3 wins coming against the bottom of the barrel and one handed to them from cha, they don't size up against any of the potential playoff contenders.

Next 4: ridder, dave, justin, tim

predicted finish: 6-6 May be enough to squeak into the last playoff spot, though head to heads and points for could be enough to keep them out.  Is .500 a failed season for co-owners from different sides of the tracks?

cha 3-5-
after 2 close losses early cha had a quality win over dan and dave before a terrible team performance against mike and andrew.
week 5 he got a freebie from mitch and then got smoked by a double dose of ridder.  Week 8 he rebounded with a quality win over a strong tim team. Cha's team has been so up and down it is difficult to judge who will show up every week.

Next 4: justin, mitch, drew, tay

predicted finish: 5-7.  Again I think Cha's team will be up in half these games and down in half these games.  Cha is primed to just miss out on the playoffs with enough excuses to look forward to "not getting fucked" next year

Justin 3-5 -
Justin started off the season with a freebie from jason and then dropped the next 4 beginning the season with 5 sub 1000 games. But he was in luck as he ran into an injured Jesse team in disarray before earning his only quality win of the year against a soon to be dead dave team in a high scoring showdown. Justin took his momentum and tried to make 1,000 garbage trades before coming out flat in a statement games that wasn't vs. elkins.

next 4: cha, tim, andrew/mike, mitch

predicted finish 5-7: leaving justin on the bubble until it bursts.  But Justin has the best team in the league so he can sleep well at night.

dave 3-5 -
Dave started the season's trend of scoring a billion points against my team in week 1, and with the #1 pick and belt in hand, had to feel good about 2015.  Mitch was gracious enough to hand over a free win in week 2 before he lost a high scoring game against the up and down chandlers. Dave was then on the L side of the "Meh" bowl with elkins and then seemed to rebound with 1200+ against the purple panthers. He saw his team smoked the following week by a now legit tim team, lost to the "best team not winning" in Justin and then the injuries snow balled in one week putting up sub 500.  Things look bleak.

next 4: tay, andrew/mike, eric, jason

predicted finish: 4-8 assuming somehow someone slips in that run.  Its a forgone conclusion that the hopes of a repeat are all washed away, and luckily early season wins will keep him from automatic co-ownership.

Jason 2-6 -
jason started off shitty against Justin, loosing a heart breaker against a drew team finding its identity and then receiving a gift wrapped W from a 500 point taylor team.  Jason went on to implode over the next 4 of 5 games and there really isn't much to talk about here unless he can manage to out-suck my team for co-owner.  It would take some luck on my behalf to force him into that position, luck I have yet to receive all year,

Next 4: mitch, eric, jesse, dave

predicted finish: 3-9, Jason will prob beat one of these terrible teams and then be as bad as the rest of them for the rest of the year.  Sadly enough 3 wins could be enough to keep him out of automatic co-ownership.

Jesse 1-7 -
Week 1 I got smoked by a hot handed champ.  I followed up with an "as expected" performance against a then strong cha team.  Feeling good headed into my match up with mike/andrew, it would be that match up that proved to be the 9/11 of my season.  With Big Ben going down I was out 200/300 points right off the bat, and move from anonionioooo who began catching 2 yard passes from a bunch of bums. In an effort to gain a starting qb and attempt to stay .500 through the injury waiting period I lost 2 huge prospects and saw cobb go on to mediocrity over the next 6 weeks.  With a thin roster at hand the points against starting rolling in.  1100+ mike/andrew, 1400+ mitch, 1000+ for elkins and justin, almost 1600 for tim and 1500+ for taylor.
Justin asked me if it would be worst to have a healthy team scoring 1200+ and loosing in shootouts or to just have my season be a wash and take the karmic lashings in combination.  I don't know.  It sucks, and I hate it.

next 4:drew, elkins, jason, eric

predicted finish: 2-8 someone is gonna slip against me.  But with such low scoring and virtually no head to head opportunity I am almost surely our next years co owner.  Until I recuse myself from competition for emotional reasons.
